Trevor was a chatbot concept that would allow children to communicate to “someone” through social media, introducing them to how to interact with others respectfully online.
There were two parts: chatbot (Node.js) and stuffed animal (Arduino).
Ideally, in the future, the child would be able to talk to the bot orally without the use of the computer. However, they are two separate things right now.
Trevor started as a much more complicated image, but turned into a simple, yet recognizable face.
The design process, prototypes, and final product are detailed in this presentation.
